Personal Spring Cleaning: Exfoliate

Spring cleaning often means polishing your furniture, silver and maybe your car.
Polish your skin for a smooth and glowing appearance.

Exfoliating your skin means shedding dead cells and revealing a smoother surface which means a brighter and more even complexion.  Who wouldn't want that?

The market is loaded with products to aid in exfoliation.  The most simple approach is mechanical with micro beads or "grit" to gently abrade the surface of the skin to shed the dead layer.  Chemical peels will also achieve this goal.  For a really serious approach, consider  professional exfoliation with microdermabrasion.

Depending on the strength of the product, exfoliate every day or several times a week.  Make sure to moisturize after exfoliation.  Besides glowing skin, moisturizers and other products will penetrate the skin more easily and be more effective.

Don't forget the rest of your body.  We loose about 1 million skin cells in a 24 hour period.
