Chive Wall Dots

Color! I am craving it right now as it is still very gray here in Michigan.  Chive Wall Dots are just the answer.

Wall Dots are 6 inch X 1 inch deep round ceramic vessels.
The "dots" are available in 13 hues.
Dots have rubber cushions to protect your walls and a hole for hanging on a nail or hook.
This side view show that the vessels can be filled with water to hold flowers, or instead of water and flowers, use it to hold pencils or something creative.
A vessel with a tulip.
I mentioned that I was painting my powder room.  I used Benjamin Moore suntan yellow on the walls.  The glossy dots really pop on the sunny walls.  I really like the 3D quality of this wall art as well.
The wall color make the hardwood floors look very rich.
I used some Bahama beach finds on the glass shelf above the sink.

I'm very pleased with the powder room now and I may just find a few more places in the condo for a "dot" or two!

Monday Musings

Happy Monday!  I saw this image on Pinterest and had to share.  I love the warm, gray color of the mug and the matte nail polish.

Speaking of color, this is the time of year I get the itch to do some interior style change and paint a room.  I'm starting out small and thinking the powder room could use a change.
I'm tired of the pistachio green.
It certainly doesn't work with my otherwise turquoise and terracotta color scheme.

So I'm looking for other color ideas.

Sunny yellow?

Do I go bold?

A little more red?
I think it will be Benjamin Moore Suntan Yellow.
This is one of my favorite colors.  It is yellow with some orange and is evokes a sunny day in Tuscany.  It will work well with  my turquoise and terracotta hues.

Well thanks for letting me run this by you.  Let me know what you all think about my choice.  What color is your powder room?

Happy Monday everyone

Captivating Mini Colored Pencils

If a $5.99 purchase can be considered an impulse buy, then I am guilty.  I was walking through Target and spotted a display of art supplies for kids, perfect for summer projects now that school is finished.  I was particularly drawn to these colored pencils.

Mini colored pencils $5.99

I love the array of hues AND the descriptive color names: carnation, dijon, iceberg, ficus, tomato, to name a few.

Pencils in a glass placed on a desk top may encourage doodling while on the phone or attending to a tedious task.

Even if you are not temped to draw with these pencils, it is fun to create color palettes.

Colored pencils, a $5.99 (mini) pleasure!

Welcome Color

I'm feeling a bit restless.  The winter landscape is gray.  My skin is pale.  Spring is too far off.  I'm craving color and a change of scenery.

Pantone has just released its Spring 2012 Fashion Color Report

This dress is an example of the picks of Cabaret (pink) and Solar Power (yellow).

My all-time favorite combo of turquoise and orange or Cockatoo and Tangerine Tango.

Make It Pink

Wow, gotta be careful of Polyvore and its Quick Share setting.  While I was preparing this post, I inadvertently "quick shared" to Blogger and Facebook!  This is what I was checking out.  House Beautiful had an article of 50 Ways to Go Pink.
Make it Pink

Pink is not usually a color I seek out but these items are so pretty, I think I could get to like pink.
