Big Photo Challenge: ME

   Another photo challenge and this week the subject is ME.


Rather than take a photo of myself, I decided to compose a photo of what makes me, me.

• Wife and mother - photo of family
• I like to work out - a running shoe
• I like to cook - a copper pot
• I'm a gardener - vase of herbs
• Beach lover - glass of shells
• Books I love
• Bible for my faith
• Silver bracelet - my jewelry business
• Everything is composed in a vintage suitcase because I like to collect and I love to travel
• Blue...my favorite color

I have a special box where I keep cards and letter that were sent to me for birthdays, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, anniversaries, thank-you's and "just because".  When I look at all the wonderful sentiments and notes, I feel very special and loved.

Photo challenge this week is SMALL

I had fun playing with this challenge.  I tried various scenarios for the miniature chair and cutout.  The challenge was to find the appropriate background to play up the small scale of the chair.

When I got back from vacation and checked my garden, I found these new tomatoes just getting started.  I watered the garden just  before taking the photo and like the look of the dripping water.

A common set of three with three textures.  

Taken with a digital camera.  No digital manipulation.

As I was about to pop a mini pretzel in my mouth...I became aware of the three holes and the three "lobes" of the pretzel.

Big Photo Challenge: Abandoned

I joined a photo challenge hosted by Adorible Photography blog.  Our assignment this week was 

Abandoned. 

Empty, bleached conch shell.  Elbow Cay, Bahamas

Taken with Olympus Stylus 790 SW  no digital enhancement

Living in southeast Michigan, I see foreclosed houses that have been vacated, factories that are defunct,  and projects halted due to lack of funds.  I couldn't sum up the devastation in one photo.  Instead, I decided to submit a photo of natural abandonment.
