Summer Stripes

Miss Dondola swing chair
Summer is meant for relaxing and wouldn't it be sweet to swing in this chair, sipping iced tea and reading a good book?

Eat your ice cream with a striped spoon.  It may not make it taste better but they sure are cute.
Candy Stripes napkins Karaweaves
Pure cotton napkins/hand towels for al fresco meals.
Rectangular lacquer trays West Elm
Carry it outdoors with a pretty lacquer tray.

My DIY Idea on glo.msn.com

I was notified last week that one of my DIY projects from a post, July of 2011 is featured in a 10 easiest DIY ideas of all times.  This was a project using Plasti Dip, a rubberizing agent.     I'm thrilled to be included in this posting of 10 DIY projects.  You can view all 10 by clicking here and see my entire post by clicking here.

Leftover Jelly Beans?

I started this post as "what to do with leftover ham" but everyone can make a ham sandwich or find a recipe using the ham bone to make pea soup.
I thought it might be more fun to see what you could do with leftover jelly beans, besides eat them out of the Easter basket.
How about making biscotti?
If that isn't sweet enough for you, try homemade "poptarts".
Guess the number of jelly beans.
Make a candle
Make a bracelet
Play tic tac toe or use jelly beans for BINGO markers.
Lick a red jelly bean and use it to stain lips or cheeks!
Top a toothpick with a jelly bean and use as an hors d'oeuvres pick.

What crazy ideas can you come up with?

Midweek Musings

I didn't post Tuesday because I just didn't have anything to say.  But I got a haircut which alway makes me feel good and then spent the afternoon poking around shops at the mall.
I love the bright colors of workout clothes at lululemon.  Their clothes are the best and I wear them everyday to workout.  They last forever and don't need any special care in the wash.
Bobbi Brown  Rich Color Gloss
A new, pretty lipstick is a great way to lift your spirits.  The Rich Color Gloss has more pigment than a regular gloss and more shine than lipstick but not sticky.
My current obsession is this product from Kiehl's.  It is 10.5% pure vitamin C.  My skin texture has improved and it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  Nothing short of surgery (maybe lasers) will get rid of wrinkles.
These two products contain copper.  Putting these on top of the product above and you've got a real team working to improve the elasticity of your skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.  My skin feels smoother and appears more hydrated and youthful.  I'm hooked.
I can't get enough of this Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter.  It smells and feels so good and I'll bet it would even taste good.

A little pampering makes a body feel good.

POPSUGAR Must Have Box

Yesterday I received my March "Must Have Box".  My blogging friend, Elle, blogged about her subscription to POPSUGAR Must Have Boxes and I was intrigued and subscribed.
March Must Have Box
Each box is $35 and has a value of at least $100.  This is similar to the Bespoke Post Box of Awesome that my husband subscribes to and I posted about here.
I was excited to receive a 16oz bottle of concentrated Delicate Wash from The Laundress.  This retails for $19.  I've heard a lot about The Laundress and I look forward to trying this product.
I've read about Buxom products and a new beauty product is always welcome. ($19)
To prevent wardrobe malfunctions, some Fashion Tape and a Sweater Saver to remove pills from sweaters, tights, etc. ($11 total)
Heather Belle tassel necklace is supposedly the cornerstone of the box but I can't find it on line.  Peeps!  Love them (about $1) The New Black nail polish twin pack ($10) not my colors but I'll find someone who likes them.
Cockatoo corkscrew ($16.)  Love this!  Cute and sturdy.

How do I feel about my box?  For my $35, I got products that are valued at more than that. The only thing I won't use is the nail polish.  I've been introduced to new products that I look forward to trying.  AND I had a pleasant surprise on a rainy Monday.  Click here to visit the POPSUGAR website and sign up for a box for yourself.
