Ah, the weekend. I'm ready...how about you?
Have some easy pesto pasta for dinner and a great glass of wine.
Then cuddle up by the fire with these special edition magazines.
Gourmet magazine's last regular monthly magazine was November 2009. A special Holiday edition was just released and the photos are absolute eye candy. The recipes include everything from breakfast to main dishes to cocktails and candy. There are also suggestions for four types of parties.
The final issue of Domino magazine was February of 2009. A fall/winter 2012 special edition just hit the magazine racks. Yes, some of the looks are their favorite spaces of all times but there are some spaces not yet seen. Lots of designer "tricks" are included as well. If you love home decorating magazines, this is one not to miss.
Be comfy, cozy, and relaxed. See you on Monday.

I have been obsessing about this metallic leather T ever since I spotted it about a month ago. Taking sporty leather and making it metallic is so chic and genius!
Maje Suzanne top
The simple T style creates an extremely versatile piece that could be the perfect wardrobe staple for holiday dressing.
I decided to answer my own question and put together some ideas.
Maje leather t shirt / Gucci velvet pants, $575 / J.Crew pointed toe pumps / Gucci leather boots / Gucci box clutch purse / House of Harlow 1960 crossbody handbag / Kenneth Jay Lane cuff bracelet / Ela Stone ring, $135

Last Christmas I discovered NEST fragrant candles.
These candles are definitely a guilty pleasure at $32 a pop. BUT the fragrance is pure "Christmas tree" and the glass vessel that holds the candle is beautiful. Hubby liked the fragrance so much he had me order 4 for this year.
Recently I was looking for a decadent hand soap for the guest bathroom; something to truly pamper visitors. I discovered that the NEST brand includes liquid hand soap. Guests have raved about this grapefruit scented soap.
MELT Holiday Winter Pine and Evergreen candle $14.99 Target
The other day I was wandering around Target looking to see what was new. I came across a new fragrant candle brand called MELT. Reading the description I realized that MELT candles are a trademark by NEST Fragrances LLC. I was so excited to discover that the MELT Holiday Winter Pine and Evergreen candle is VERY close to the twice as expensive NEST Holiday candle, so close that I can't tell the difference.
MELT also makes the fragrant candles in pillar form from $7.99 - $9.99.
Click here to view all the forms and fragrances of MELT candles. Each scent is delightful and true to the description. You might like this Pumpkin/Amaretto fragrance.
So, would you splurge on the NEST candle
or save with a MELT candle?

Make your day even more lovely with:
a latte in a pretty bowl from Anthropologie,
then moisturize with this fluffy, whipped, body butter.
Envelope yourself in this exquisite fragrance from Chanel
Step out in these comfy shoes from Aerosole.
Pick up some fresh groceries for dinner and take them home in the Baggu bag you have stashed in your purse,
and when you get home, light a deliciously warm, scented candle.

I am smitten by this lovely, delicate looking bowl.
$15 5.75" diameter
The surprise is that is only look delicate. The bowl is made of a pliable, thermoplastic material. Use this as a catchall for fruit, mail, pine cones or just admire the design of the empty bowl. Wipe clean.
The MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) store has a plethora of interesting items that would make great gifts. Check out their online catalog here.
Have a lovely weekend

No, this is not a recipe post. I just thought I'd share my latest photo submission for the online photography class I'm taking. The assignment was to make your interpretation of a caprese salad and photograph it. I think this looks like a party on a plate with the chiffonnade of basil being confetti.
Here's a book recommendation.
I just finished reading this book and I loved it. It was recommended by my friend, Suzanne. I was traveling and had just finished the reading material I had taken with me and was desperate for something to read. I checked my emails and there was a message from Suzanne with this suggestion. I immediately downloaded the book and began to read...and laugh. The book was written by Maria Semple, a comedy writer for television shows such as Mad About You and Arrested Development. The story takes place in Seattle, a city Maria decided she disliked almost immediately upon moving there from Los Angeles. Bernadette, the heroine of the book, disliked Seattle also. Read the book to find out where exactly Bernadette went, and how IF they found her. You can read the NY Times interview with Ms. Semple here and an NPR review here.
Wednesday was one of those gorgeous autumn days that you wish wouldn't end.
I'm busy making jewelry for the holidays. I think this one of my favorites.
Very simple but I love a collection of all types of bangles on my arm.
Have a lovely day.

The November issue of Architectural Digest features Nate Berkus and his apartment in a 19th century Manhattan duplex that he recently renovated.
You may know Berkus from his home make-overs on The Oprah Winfrey Show or his own television show (that is no longer in production). In his usual style, he performed his own home make-over in just three months.
Living room before.
Living room after.
Love this cozy space.
Starting October 21, you can find the Nate Berkus for Target collection. 150 items in all. Here is a small sample.
I LOVE that gold "urchin-like" object.
Pillows, vessels and boxes.
Are you intrigued?
